The Grange Hampshire

Widely regarded as the foremost example of Greek Revival architecture in England, The Grange sits at the heart of a 600 acre landscaped park near Northington in Hampshire, on the banks of the Candover Brook.

First built in the 1660s and later transformed into its present neoclassical form, the Grade I listed mansion was dramatically saved from demolition in 1975 and is now held in guardianship by English Heritage, with the wider estate also home to the annual Grange Festival opera season.

The house offers dining capacity for up to 180 guests without the need for an additional marquee, alongside a walled garden and ornamental lakes for drinks and photography.

The flint faced St John the Evangelist church, on the northern edge of the estate with direct off-road access through the woods, provides a traditional option for the ceremony itself, and both The Grange and Abbotstone Barn are licensed for civil ceremonies.

Abbotstone Farm House offers exclusive hire with overnight accommodation for up to 20 guests, while the Walled Garden can be hired separately for up to 200.

For weddings that call for genuine architectural drama, few venues in the south of England compete with The Grange.
