At the end of a woodland driveway on the edge of the New Forest, Bartley Lodge is a Grade II listed former hunting lodge set in around eight acres of landscaped grounds. It sits at Cadnam, just outside Lyndhurst and moments from junction 1 of the M27, so it feels deep in the forest while staying easy to reach from Southampton, Bournemouth, Salisbury and London.

Bartley Lodge combines the history of a former hunting lodge with the comfort of a country house hotel. Inside, oak panelling, chandeliers and period details set the tone. Outside, a walled garden, rolling lawns and ancient oak trees give couples a choice of settings for ceremonies, drinks receptions and photographs.

An AA Rosette restaurant serves food built around local produce, there’s a honeymoon suite for the couple, and an indoor pool and leisure area for guests who stay the weekend.

Wedding lighting at Bartley Lodge

The Baronial Hall’s dark oak panelling looks wonderful by candlelight, but it absorbs light, so the room needs careful lighting to feel warm rather than dim in the evening. We use warm uplighting to lift the panelling and ceiling, pin-spotting for centrepieces and the cake, and festoon or fairy lighting where it suits your theme. When the band starts, the room changes with dance floor lighting that moves to the music.

Outside, we can light the walled garden, the oak trees and the front of the lodge so guests can enjoy the grounds after dark, and so your evening photographs make the most of the setting.

Wedding sound and PA at Bartley Lodge

A ceremony under the oaks needs sound that carries without being intrusive. We provide discreet wireless microphones for the registrar, readers and musicians, so every guest hears the vows, indoors in the Crystal Room or outdoors in the gardens.

In the Baronial Hall, we supply speech PA for the wedding breakfast and full sound systems for bands and DJs in the evening, with a sound engineer to mix live and keep levels right for the room.

Staging and production for events at Bartley Lodge

For bands, we supply staging and risers sized to fit the Baronial Hall without crowding the dance floor. For conferences and awards dinners in the conference rooms, we provide presentation screens, lectern and lapel microphones, stage lighting and a technician to run the day.

Working carefully in a listed building

As a Grade II listed building, Bartley Lodge needs a careful approach. We use free-standing equipment rather than fixings, protect floors and panelling during load-in, keep cable runs tidy and safe, and agree access times and noise limits with the venue team in advance. Our crew installs, operates and removes everything, leaving the lodge exactly as we found it.
