Event Ideas

Guildford Cathedral's tower and nave give us one of the largest canvases we work on, a landmark visible for miles across Surrey. We were asked to light the building's sides and bell tower and project imagery and wording across its west front, turning a static facade into a message the whole county could read at once.

Over several return visits we've built projections for NHS thank-yous, the VE Day anniversary, Surrey Day and community campaigns like Surrey Drive, each one a different combination of colour, artwork and lettering across the same stone. Blue washes the tower most nights, and on the evenings that matter, it gives way to rainbows, union flags, or a single word picked out in light.

It's a relationship we keep returning to, because a building this size rewards precise, considered lighting design, and because every projection has to read cleanly from right across the city.

For an 18th birthday set against a country house at dusk, we delivered every piece of production behind the celebration.

Guests moved between spaces built for different moods: a Persian-styled marquee lounge with rattan furniture and botanical linings for early evening drinks, a clear-roofed dining marquee strung with festoon lighting beneath a fairy-lit ceiling, and a starlit dance tent - complete with mirror ball, moving lighting, DJ booth and live band stage - that carried the night through to the early hours.

Behind it sat the technical build: full sound reinforcement, lighting design, bars both indoors and out, furniture throughout, and the power distribution and generators needed to run it all reliably across the grounds - including string-lit trees guiding guests up the driveway and fire pits glowing outside.

For Liv and Scott, The Grange's grand Hampshire architecture became the backdrop for a day designed entirely around them.

We delivered full production from ceremony to last dance. Trailing foliage and hanging disco balls transformed the rig above the dance floor, while the historic staircase was dressed with ferns, autumnal planting and fairylights, guiding guests up through the house as the light faded. In the dining hall, birch branches and delicate glassware brought a natural, organic feel to every table.

Beyond the styling, we handled the technical build behind the scenes: uplighting and a breakup wash across the vaulted interiors, exterior facade lighting to the South Portico, and a full PA system and staging for speeches, the band and dancing into the night.

One dedicated team managed every element, so Liv and Scott could simply be present in their own day - from the first vow to the final song.

For a fabulous cowboy-themed 50th, Wonder Events brought us in to deliver the lighting and power distribution behind the scenes.

Paula, from Wonder Events, had a clear vision from the outset, and we worked closely with her throughout to turn it into reality on the day. Under the baking sun, our team installed over 300m of festoon lighting across the site, rigged interactive dance floor lighting on a goalpost structure framing the dance floor, and ran the cabling needed to power it all safely and reliably.
