The wedding of Sophia and Ziyaad @ Battersea Arts Centre

Sophia and Ziyaad's wedding at Battersea Arts Centre was a beautiful collaboration between vision and craft. As a theatre designer, Sophia arrived with very specific ideas for the drapery's colour and design, sourcing the fabric herself for a soft champagne tone that would complement the venue's ornate, weathered ceiling and exposed brick.

We took her material and adapted it to fit the Grand Hall's proportions, building a full backdrop framed by string lights and a mirror ball rig. Alongside the draping, we installed cascading crystal chandeliers throughout the space and floral plinths for the ceremony, with rows of olive trees in woven baskets lining the aisle. A personalised "Meet the Massouds" neon sign added a playful touch for the reception.

Working closely with the couple's other suppliers and the venue team, we brought together lighting, florals, drapery, and staging into one cohesive install — transforming BAC's raw, historic hall into a magical setting for the couple's afternoon celebration.
