Working as one team

Our role has always been collaborative. Chelsea’s Special Events team brings a deep understanding of the club, its people and what the night needs to achieve. We bring the creative thinking, technical expertise and production experience to turn that into a finished event.

Working together over so many years means we know the club’s standards, its brand and the details that matter. Planning conversations start from trust and shared experience rather than a standing start. That continuity lets each event build on the last while still feeling new.

Design that celebrates the club

Every Player of the Year begins with design. We create the overall look and feel of the event, from the stage set and room layout to the lighting design, graphics and table theming. We present it through drawings and visuals so the club can see the room long before the build begins.

Over the years the designs have taken very different directions. In 2013, a textured stage backdrop and warm, dramatic lighting gave the room a bold, theatrical feel, with “Player of the Year” lettering standing out against the set. In 2014, we created a sweeping set in white and Chelsea blue, with the club crest, a curved centrepiece and the names of the squad worked into the design, all washed in rich blue light.

Later years brought the event to an even bigger scale. We added starcloth ceilings that turned the room into a night sky, large-format LED screens so every guest had a clear view of the stage, and Chelsea shirts suspended above the tables as striking centrepieces. In 2024, the CFC Awards set used circular portals, illuminated club crests and football-themed table centres to create a contemporary look for a new era.

Throughout, the brief stays the same: celebrate the club, its history and its players, and make the room feel unmistakably Chelsea.

Full production delivery

Alongside the creative work, Peachy Productions takes care of full production delivery: everything needed to bring the design to life on the night.

• Set design and build: stage sets, backdrops, lettering and branded features, built and finished by our team.
• Staging: stages and presentation areas designed around the running order, awards presentations and live performances.
• Lighting: full lighting design, from dramatic stage looks to room washes, crest projections and starcloth ceilings.
• Sound and AV: sound systems, LED screens and video playback, keeping speeches, presentations and highlight packages clear across the whole room.
• Camera and broadcast support: setting the stage and lighting up to work for cameras, so the night looks as good on screen and in photos as it does in the room.
• Theming and branding: table centrepieces, shirt displays, scarves, signage and graphics that bring the club’s identity into every corner of the room.

We manage the technical planning, suppliers, crew, schedules and on-site build. Our team works through rehearsals and the live event to make sure everything runs to time.

Delivering under pressure

A Player of the Year event leaves no room for error. Build windows are tight, running orders change and the evening is watched closely by players, guests and media. Our experience of delivering the event year after year means we plan for every eventuality. We know how to keep calm and adapt when the unexpected happens.

The result

Over more than a decade, the Chelsea Player of the Year Awards has grown in scale and ambition, and Peachy Productions has been proud to grow with it. Each event has its own identity, but all share the same attention to detail and the same goal: a night that does justice to the club and the season being celebrated.
