The MPG Awards – Grosvenor House Hotel

For the Music Producers Guild Awards at Grosvenor House Hotel, we built a stage and lighting package to suit a ballroom used to hosting the biggest nights in the country. A branded backdrop and repeating step-and-repeat framed a raised stage, with twin projection screens either side carrying the show content and winner reveals to every table in the room.

Moving head fixtures worked the stage and staircase entrance, while a full wash of purple and blue uplighting picked out the room's columns and mirrored walls, working with the venue's own chandeliers rather than against them. A starcloth backdrop on the staircase gave presenters a clean entrance point, and PA and control were positioned to run the whole show from one place without disrupting sightlines across the tables.

It's the kind of brief where the room does half the work, and our job is not to fight it.
