Case Study

Lancing College

BRIEF

Peachy Productions were approached by Lancing College to provide all the technical infrastructure necessary to live stream the Presidents Day Chapel service and prize giving to all those parents not able to attend. The college then required a cameraman to interview the children and teachers during the afternoon’s activities before then delivering an edited highlights real at the end of the day.

APPROACH

Due to the size of the Chapel but with limitations on movement during the service and prized giving we decided on a 4 camera set up with a maned camera up by the organist, two locked of cameras to cover the audience and a remote controlled PTZ camera for close up shots of the Pulpit and lectern.

The cameras and live stream would be controlled through a vMix machine with audio taken from the in-house system.

For the Prize giving, we had a 15 minute window to install a 12ft by 8ft stage with steps, a 4 speaker PA system and adjust the cameras  before the school returned.

RESULT

Lancing College had never attempted a live stream of this complexity before and where unsure how many of the parents might view. With a maximum audience size of 250 sets of parents we had a peak viewing of 125 unique viewers on average watching for 24.14 minutes.

The college were then able to send out a highlights real to all parents at the end of the day before all the children headed off on half term break, leaving a really positive feeling.

The School were overwhelmed with the favourable responses they received from the parents and particularly those who live abroad and have not and will not be able to attend in the future. This solution was so successful that discussions are already being had about how this could be rolled out for next year.
